The human resources agency, RSA, presented a bioscience student at Cambridge University with an award and cheque for £500 for his "outstanding" dissertation in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
This is the second year that RSA have sponsored the Masters in Bioscience dissertation and marks its commitment to developing and encouraging talent pools within this scientific area.
The dissertation entitled Managing activities related to an internal technology incubator. The Masters in Bioscience Enterprise is a one-year multi-disciplinary biotechnology and business course run at Cambridge’s Institute of Biotechnology.
Samuel commented: "I am delighted to have won this year’s RSA dissertation award. The Bioscience Enterprise programme has provided me with an excellent overview of the theoretical and commercial aspects of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, which complements my existing knowledge in molecular biology."
As part of the course, Samuel took an internship with GlaxoSmithKline(GSK) in Hertfordshire. He added: "My internship at GSK has given me invaluable insights into the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, and the contacts and knowledge I have gained from the MBE course will without doubt help shape my future career."
